Im Here Without You Baby ------------------------------------------------------- but youre still on my lonely mind Alayna was missing home so badly. All of this seemed like it was in a blur. The night before Sloan had left had been amazing. They had spent another night together just walking the woods around Alayna's home and talking. Well more like flirting like they always did, and yet nothing went beyond that. Alayna knew that Sloan was going back home so the two stubborn people were playing hard to get. Though Alayna was not going to admit just how much she was falling for him. And yet the next morning he was gone, gone back to America. Alayna wasnt going to admit it, but she missed Sloan a great deal. Everyone seemed to notice, especially Sophia. Alayna had hit a hard place. There were just not enough tourists anymore, and the profit of her farm was slowly beginning to drop. Alayna would not be able to handle it if her farm was drug into the ground though selling her horses would be even so much harder. Alayna needed a new start..where everyone would not know her name and know her past. Sophia understood this and agreed to hol the fort for awhile. Alayna couldnt exactly take over 1000 head of horses on planes with her, even thogh she could afford it. The hardest thing of all was saying goodbye to Navarano and Grazia. Grazia was the old veteran while Navarano was the up and coming champion. Both of whom were Alaynas best friends. Armed with only Ninana, Alaynas trusted Siberian Huky, Alayna went to America completely not know what to expect.
Ninana in tow Alayna decided to do something crazy. In Rome they had Henna tattoos but nothing like the tattoos that they had in America and quite frankly Alayna liked them. Though no one bothered warning her how bad it was going to hurt. Having met Kat Von D when she was visiting Rome Alayna trusted her virgin body with no other. Walking into the parlour everyone welcomed both her and Ninana with open arms. Ninana was a very well trained dog and even though she was shaking with excitement at meeting new people she held her cool and laid down on the big pillow Kat had brought from home. Alayna knew what she wanted and had brought a photograph. The tattoo was a full belt of huge stars..one end would wrap around her belly button in the front and the other would wind up her spine the stars getting smaller as they went. It was a rather large tatoo but Alayna was ready for it. As Kat began another tatoo artist saw Alayna go pale and immediately came over to hold Alaynas hand. She had not expected that much pain, even though it wasnt terribly bad. Alayna had dealt with worse both mentally and physically. But this was like an aggrivating pain that did not want to end. Ninana laid by Alaynas side occasionally nuzzling Alaynas leg when she felt Alayna flinch or jump. The needle was going in deep and because the tattoo was so big and expanded by the time Kat was done nearly Alaynas entire back was swollen. And it hurt like hell to move. Alayna was wearing a simple bikini top and it killed her to tie the back strap back around her back. OH this hurt. Kat said to just lay in the sun for awhile and some of the swelling would go down and for once Alayna hoped she was right.
Walking out of the parlour Alayna was stiff. Not daring put her shirt back on Alayna walked down the streets wondering where she was going to lay for the swelling to go down. Even Ninana knew Alayna was in pain for the rather large husky walked without pulling at the leash in excitement. Ninana was always so much fun to travel with for the dog wanted to explore everything. Deciding that Central Park was a winner, because the beach was too far away, Alayna made off in that direction. Even though this had been her first time in Miami Alayna knew her way around pretty well. That was one good thing about Alayna was that she had a good sense of direction and she LOVED Miami. It wasnt near as quiet as Rome and there was always something to do. Yo would never find anything uninteresting. Though it did kind of bother her when she was walking down the beach and caught many people either naked or guys in speedos. There were only so many things that you should do in public. Drinking here was oh so much fun! There were so many drinks to choose from that it was unbelievable and on Alaynas first night here she got so wasted it was unimagineable. That being the first time she had gotten wasted Alayna wanted to forget it. Walking into the park Alayna winced as she moved though still giving everyone a kind smile. Finding a good piece of grass that was unoccupied Alayna laid down on her stomach, though that only hurt more. Grabbing the squashy pillow Kat had let her borrow Alayna stuffed it underneath her and suddenly she felt like she was laying on air. Letting Ninana run loose though keeping an eye on the dog Alayna laid there, thinking about that one night in the gardens of rome and the man she had spent it with.

Miami proved to take some time to adjust to even when Sloan spoke English as his first language. The city was much sketchier than the ancient roadways of the Roman corridors and the people all seemed to dig themselves into early graves with alcohol, promiscuity, and drugs—not that the chain smoker could really say anything since he was in essence possibly shortening his life with each drag of the fag. Still, the atmosphere was different, more superficial and less engrained in tradition. Sloan had come to accept it, though grudgingly, and had settled into life in the tropical city over the course of the past few months. One positive to the sudden move was getting away from his family and from Sophia Genovese, the woman who had shrugged his feelings off like a shawl in hopes of getting back together with her ex. He wished her luck, again rather grudgingly, but had a feeling that a man who was stupid enough to let go of someone as perfect as Sophia would be just as dumb the next time around. But Sloan refused to dwell on such a thing when he was now set free and living the life of a reaffirmed bachelor in Miami although one person seemed to come across his mind with increasing frequency.
Alayna Vladimer. She was Sophia’s best friend, a fiery spirit to foil the sweet and docile demeanor of her friend. Over the course of their brief acquaintanceship, the duo had flirted shamelessly without any real progress, partially because Sloan had still been hung up on Sophia at the time and partially because both seemed afraid to make any advances when they were to be separated in a short time. But once in Miami memories of that night in one of Rome’s gardens had replayed itself and provided a remedy for homesickness. The night had been beautiful for that time of year and the company not half bad either.
Those same dreams had brought Sloan to the round-about some distance from his apartment near the shore. It was about the only place Romanesque enough for Sloan who enjoyed the quiet, the smell of fresh green plant life over the repugnant smells that leaked out of the sewers in the muggy and overpopulated heart of Miami. The round-about met all of Sloan’s requirements and as he milled down the concrete trail with Maximus, his guide dog, leading the way he was certain to revel in the smell of freshly cut grass and the sound of children squealing with delight as their parents propelled them higher and higher at each request. He had enjoyed sitting in the grass with Alayna and enjoyed the flirtation even more as time progressed seeing as that was about the only way they communicated initially. While with her Sloan was never blind or handicapped, merely an individual who was worth talking to. It was only since being in Miami that Sloan came to realize that had he not been hung up on Sophia odds were he would have noticed how attractive Alayna was: strong, independent, level-headed, and somewhat mysterious about her past.
Running his free hand through his chestnut colored mop of hair, Sloan settled onto a wooden bench on the trail not too far from the playground by the sound of it. He'd been walking in circles for a good hour or so enjoying the fresh air and tropical sun that warmed the blood. An antsy Maximus was let off the harness to wander within a short distance but the yellow Labrador had other ideas as he sprinted off along the vein of trees. Sloan whistled but got no response, “Maximus, here,” he bellowed in a stern tone but to no avail; the dog barked back but seemed to want to play a game rather than listen.
Give a dog an inch and they take a mile—he should have known.

Im Here Without You Baby ------------------------------------------------------- but youre still on my lonely mind Laying there in the grass it reminded Alayna of home. Oh how much she missed it, but then again Alayna was beginning to like America. It was taking some getting used to though. There were so many things that were done in America that were not done back home. There was not one single horse farm in Miami that Alayna could find and work at so now her hands were becomming slowly softer loosing their rough calluses. It was so loud here even at the park that Alayna was amazed that people could even think. Though she was beginning to get used to it. But Alayna believed the one thing she missed more than anything was Navarano. Alayna could take him absolutely everywhere in Rome, mainly because the entire city knew of Alayna and her well trained horses. But here in Miami Alayna was lucky if she could take Ninana anywhere unless she tied her outside with all the other dogs. It was so hard understanding America's customs. Not knowing anyone Ninana was her safe hold, and Alayna always ended up grabbing food to go and eating while she walked if Alayna was not allowed to bring Ninana in with her. Already quite a few times her protective Husky has fended off predators. Ninana would growl at any man that looked at Alayna wrong. Alayna understood a good bit about men, but she was definetely not used to getting goggled at all the time. Alayna had never believed she was that beatiful but apparently everyone else did. Many have already asked her why dont she model or act. But Alayna had no interest with all that stuff. So just that morning Alayna had applied for vet at the Miami Zoo, and she was rather exicted about it.
Getting jerked from her thoughts Alayna looked up at hearing the familiar feminine barking of her canine companion. Not really wanting to move Alayna had to turn over and place her weight on her elbows to figure out where that dang dog went. Spotting the red and white husky Alayna let out a whistle and immediately Ninana came running but there was someone in tow. A smile spread across her face as she was almost knocked to the ground by Max, Sloans guide dog. Ninana too became rambunctious forgetting for a moment that Alayna had just gotten a tattoo so she was in conciderable pain. Pushing both of the dogs off with a smile Alayna rubbed Max in his favorite spot behind his ears and looked around. Sloan was never far away where Max was concerned and sure enough Alayna spotted him. At first she hesitated but a slight nudge from Max and Ninana made Alayna get to her feet. Putting her flip flops back on and still bearing only a bikini top and sweat capris Alayna walked towards the bench. She had figured out on her first day never to go barefoot in a place like this. Even though she could go barefoot everywhere at home. Attatching a leash back to Ninana Alayna walked up with Max in tow. the beautiful dog immedaitely went to Sloans side letting a few happy barks escape him. Missing something? Alayna said with a smile. Their entire two week long relationship was based on how they teased and flirted. Alayna was definetely not going to let him down now. Though her body was tense, what was there to say? And every so often Alayna winced as she breathed for her heavily muscled and nicely tanned body had been violated and now it was red puffy and sore.
I didnt know you lived in Miami? Alayna said as she tried hard to sit down without causing too much pain. Kat had said she would be sore for while and if Alayna was gentle she could rub her fingers over her tattoo and actually feel where the stars were. IT was actually rather cool, but hopefully it would go down. Alayna gave Ninana a loving pat pretty much giving the dog permission to go wander off again. A smile erupted from her lips as she watched little children walk up to Ninana cautiously. Ninana was very good with kids and she would lower her head allowing the children to pet her. Watching all these children reminded Alayna just how much she wanted a family, someday though no was definetely not the time. That door had been injured seriously bad a long time ago by Shane and Alayna was not very comfortable opening that door. And to proove it Alayna had gotten on the birth control shot. Before in Rome Alayna was only on the pill but here Alayna found the shot and immediately was on it. She did not want to take any chances. Looking at Sloan Alayna could not help but stare at him. He was so gorgeous in the sunlight, and gorgeous period and Alayna could not believe that she had actually found him here.

Ever since coming to Florida Maximus was taking some time to adjust to his new surroundings and Sloan was convinced the dog had reverted back to his puppy-hood when whistles and orders went in one floppy, golden ear and out the other. The Labrador was of course never far off, in fact Sloan could hear the collar jingling and the distinct bark that escaped his muzzle Still, Sloan shook his head and maintained the forceful tenor which his usually obedient dog would respond to, “Max, come here,” he ordered once more and from not far off, somewhere in the opposite direction, Maximus’ deep bark signaled that he had heard and would be coming in time. Not amused, Sloan leaned forward on the bench supporting himself with his elbows perched atop his knees, ears opened to the world around him as he debated chasing after him. Children were screaming happily on one side, the sound of tiny sneakers plowing through woodchips grated in one ear while the other was strained to hear activity on the lawn. A Frisbee whizzed through the air, an almost indiscernible whistle coming from it; people could be heard in low, private conversation, but nothing very exciting.
Juggling the idea of standing up for a moment or two, Sloan pushed down on the wooden bench and began lifting himself up when the sound of a dog running back to him made him falter, “Come, Max,” he requested and the dog barked excitedly before returning to his master’s side and licking his hand. The dog was excited and Sloan stroked his head curiously as he realized that Maximus had fetched two other people—another dog and a human by the sound of the six feet treading through the grass towards him, “I’m sorry if my dog--”
But the sentence was abandoned as a familiar voice met Sloan’s ears unexpectedly, “Missing something?” Alayna teased in their usual manner. Sloan turned his head sharply and met the Italian native with one of his roguish smirks of recognition. He wasn’t one to believe in coincidences but the fact that he had just been thinking about her when she should suddenly appear with her voice laced with an Italian accent and somewhat labored was uncanny. What was Alayna Vladimer doing away from her Andulasians in Italy? And how the hell did she end up in Miami of all places?
His sightless eyes turned towards her and he shrugged his shoulders carelessly before reclining back into his seat, “Yes, actually. She’s an Italian who raises horses and has the roughest hands I have ever felt on a woman and she has a set of pipes,” Sloan answered cheekily, “But I think you meant my dog, right? No, he’s being a bit of a prick these days.” That didn’t stop Sloan from scratching his companion behind the ear while readjusting the harness.
“I didn’t know you lived in Miami?” was the next question Sloan was greeted by and again he gave only the slightest gesture of knowing what she was talking about. Alayna seated herself next to him on the bench but the position took time for her to get into as she drew in a breath sharply as if from pain.
“I didn’t,” he finally answered, listening to the other dog, undoubtedly Ninana, allow herself to become the latest attraction for children at the park while Maximus remained seated where he belonged at his owner’s side; once the harness was on there was no fooling around, “My family is originally from New York—not me, them. But I have some relatives down here so I figured at least I’d know some people.” In fact, his grandmother and grandfather didn’t live too far from the city, by bus it only took about an hour to get to their suburban retirement fortress, a flat-level abode within one of those communities where the grass always had to be a certain height. He’d only visited them once but it was comforting to know that someone was only a drive away.
Running his hands alongside his temple, Sloan cocked his head towards Alayna prepared to ask a similar question, “What are you doing in Miami? Stalking me again?” he chuckled, “I’m kind of honored you find me that attractive…” he could feel her uninhibited gaze on him and smirked, “But really, bella, this isn’t fatal attraction and I’d prefer not to be Michael Douglas.”

I Remember When You Were Falling ------------------------------------------------------- and i was there holding onto you Watching Sloan Alayna saw him just shrug casually and knew that there was going to be some teasing going on again. Wow Alayna had missed this a good deal. “Yes, actually. She’s an Italian who raises horses and has the roughest hands I have ever felt on a woman and she has a set of pipes, But I think you meant my dog, right? No, he’s being a bit of a prick these days.” Alayna let out a hearty laugh before immediately stopping herself. The sore muscles in her stomach were speaking again and by god Alayna could not wait for the soreness to go away. Maybe the tattoo was not such a good idea for Alayna was slightly regretting it. But then again it was her first one, so it had to be only natural that she felt this way about it. Well in that case now that you have me what are you going to do with me? Alayna said in another teasing tone. Her body was stiff but she moved closer to Sloan and let her hand rest ontop of his. And as you can feel, my hands arent as rough anymore. Alayna gave him another smile even though she knew that he could not see how happy she was to see him Alayna knew that Sloan would be able to sense it. That was one good thing about being blind. Sloan could guess whenever something was wrong, or whenever Alayna was in pain, or lying. Without even looking at her he could sense these things. Sometimes because of Alaynas past she wished she had the same strength as he did.
“I didn’t,” Alayna looked away from Ninana for a moment and looked at Sloan rather confused. Though she did not have to wait long for an answer. “My family is originally from New York—not me, them. But I have some relatives down here so I figured at least I’d know some people.” Alayna sighed in understanding looking back at Ninana and the children. Nina was always very good with kids and now the poor dog was laying down allowing the children to jump all over her. Oh I see. Well now you know more people. Im thinking about selling the majority of my Andalusians. Keeping only Grazia and Navarano, for keeping the farm running is prooving more and more difficult. I just might stay in Miami. Alayna pretty much spilled the beans to Sloan and she was surprised at herself. She had been thinking of keeping the farm as only a summer house, but then again she hadnt really said it out loud. Nava and Grazia were worth millions more in America then they were in Italy. Alayna could make so much more money this way, and she was already making a good load of it being the head veterinarian at miami zoo. And with the millions of her family money stashed away Alayna was filthy rich. Though she did not like to boast about it. She figured out the hard way that that was not the way to go about that. “What are you doing in Miami? Stalking me again?” Alayna let out a small chuckle placing a gentle hand on her stomach, though her other hand still rested on Sloans. The softness difference was amazing and it killed Alayna not to be able to do some heavy duty work while she was here. Aiden told me Miami was the place to go if I needed to relax and have some fun. I took him up on his offer. Alayna added. Stalking you was never my intention.
Ninana got to her feet once the childrens parent ushered them away from the large dog. She moved over towards Sloan and Alayna sitting herself on Sloans right and Alaynas left like a watch dog. Nuzzling Sloans leg Ninana wanted some attention from someone other than Alayna. She felt sorry for Ninana was the good companion who had never left her side when she came here. “I’m kind of honored you find me that attractive… But really, bella, this isn’t fatal attraction and I’d prefer not to be Michael Douglas.” Alayna blushed slightly for he knew she was staring. Well Im sorry if I do find you that attractive, Alayna chuckled, And honestly do you think I would go that far? Alayna added with another small laugh. She was trying hard not to laugh too much for it would cause her great pain. This was by far the last tattoo she was ever going to get. Alayna was breathing deeply, because short raspy breaths hurt her too badly. There were only so many things Alayna could handle. Grabbing a jel out of her bag, Kat had told her it would help with the swelling and soreness, Alayna began applying it to her stomach, side and tried to make it on her back though was having difficulty. Great... Alayna said underneath her breath. Her back was what hurt the most out of all of it. For reference...do not get a huge tattoo fo your first one. Alayna said grudgingly.

And so the game of cat and mouse began again much to Sloan’s delight. It didn’t take much for Alayna to parry his retort with a flirtatious one of her own, “Well in that case now that you have me what are you going to do with me?” she asked through the abrupt laughter. The young man arched his brow, cocking his head to the side like Maximus or Ninana might do, and felt the gap between them thin as Alayna drew herself closer. A devilish twinkle was concealed beneath his sunglasses as a softer palm rubbed against the back of his hand in a manner which could only be described as slightly provocative. He didn’t move but instead smiled back in her direction, “And as you can feel, my hands aren’t as rough anymore.” It was true; the calluses that had made Alayna’s hand so distinguishable were far less abrasive and inflamed than he remembered them.
“No, they aren’t,” Sloan nodded, taking her hands in his for further inspection. His trained fingers ran gently along her palms as they had that night in the garden when he had first noticed the day labor insignia’s in her hands. They were no longer the rough pads that Sloan had commented one; the skin was become soft—much like Sophia’s hands, in fact, since she had never had to work the land a day in her life, “Look at that,” he teased, turning her hands over, “Your hands are as soft as a baby’s ass now. What have you been up to? Obviously not working with all the horses you own on that ranch.”
The answer was soon revealed as the horsewoman explained her intentions to sell the ranch and the horses; Sloan couldn’t hide his surprise. From all Sophia had said and all he had seen, raising those Andulasians were her pride and joy, and now she was planning on staying in Miami? He patted the back of her hand and rested it back down on the bench but it was soon restored to its position on top of his. Smirking, Sloan did not try to remove it; it was no secret that whatever was going on that the feelings were mutual. Alayna could be just as flirtatious and witty as Sloan could be but their level of comfort remained as it had that day in the saddle with Alayna’s back flush between his legs—now if that wasn’t security what the hell was? “I’m sorry to hear that, Alayna. I know how much that farm meant to you,” he explained in a serious tone, blue-green eyes brimming with sympathy for moment, “And I thought the cowgirl thing was pretty damn sexy. It’s every man’s fantasy, a girl riding astride.” Yes, he’d gone there and was laughing wholeheartedly at his brashness. There was no reason to prolong any sadness that Alayna may or may not have been feeling for the loss of her ranch on the outskirts of Rome.
“Aiden told me Miami was the place to go if I needed to relax and have some fun. I took him up on his offer. Stalking you was never my intention.”
“Well, that’s good to know,” Sloan laughed but was growing somewhat concerned as to why each laugh ended abruptly with a sharp intake of air. What was bothering her? For the life of him he couldn’t figure it and he was resorting to diverting his attention to Ninana, who was whimpering at their feet for attention, “I feel so much safer knowing that I’m just being ogled.” Alayna’s gaze would not be ignored and making her squirm just a bit made their little game more enjoyable. She had shifted slightly when he had first mentioned it and could imagine how hot her cheeks must have felt; Alayna was always so guarded as a result of the man in her past. To some degree Sloan could sympathize and was not deterred by it since he was also a careful individual when it came to facing the prejudiced world of the seeing.
“Well I’m sorry if I do find you that attractive. And honestly do you think I would go that far?” another laugh was cut short and intrigued a now blushing Sloan. He was attractive, was he? Bear in mind Sloan had never seen himself so it wasn’t as if he knew what to expect and the compliment coming from Alayna was greatly appreciated.
“You can never be too careful,” Sloan smirked, shifting enough as to pat the top of Ninana’s head as she struggled to gain his attention, “It’s always the quiet ones that are the axe murderers, they say. And out of all the cities in all the world, you ending up here is a big coincidence. Especially if I am as attractive as you seem to think. I feel very exposed,” he snickered, throwing his arms across his chest to cover himself up, “Stalker.”
Alayna shifted once more at his side, her hand reaching by their legs before meeting with the object she sought that had come from a zipped up compartment. The dogs watched her curiously and Sloan remembered silent as Alayna grumbled with each belabored movement, “For reference...do not get a huge tattoo for your first one.” So that was what was causing the pain.
Sloan couldn’t help but laugh and shook his head, “I don’t intend to get one but thanks for the heads up,” he offered, “Do you need help?”

What Is Love ------------------------------------------------------- baby dont hurt me.. “I’m sorry to hear that, Alayna. I know how much that farm meant to you,” he spoke in all seriousness t first. There were few times that they actually spoke serious and it was rather uncomfortable at first. It would take some getting used to. “And I thought the cowgirl thing was pretty damn sexy. It’s every man’s fantasy, a girl riding astride.” Alayna smirked as Ninana moved from her spot and jumped up onto the bench next to Alayna. She was still keeping a very watchful eye over everything. Alayna could not wait to start breeding her again. Well have you heard the saying 'you can take the girl out of the honkeytonk, but you cant take the honkeytonk out of the girl'? Alayna said with another teasing giggle. Your cowgirl is no acception. Alayna said matter of factly. Though once she thought about it Alayna could not believe she had just said that. Alayna had basically stated that she was his. She knew Sloan would catch it and immediately Alayna became nervous as to what he would say. There was no way Alayna was going to forget her heritage just for coming here. Im going to continue breeding and showing Navarano and Grazia when I bring them here. Trying to change the subject from what she had said earlier. Alayna was to frightened to admit it but ever since that night in the gardens she had not been able to forget Sloan. And now she believed she was falling in love with him. How could that be when she didnt even know him for very long? Alayna didnt care, but she was frightened that Sloan did not feel the same and she would get her heart broken once again.
There were so many things about Miami that Alayna did not understand. Why just walk to where you ned to go instead of driving a car and crambing the streets. The noise was something Alayna was beginning to get used to but it was still nearly unbearable. “You can never be too careful, It’s always the quiet ones that are the axe murderers, they say. And out of all the cities in all the world, you ending up here is a big coincidence. Especially if I am as attractive as you seem to think. I feel very exposed,” Watching him act like a stubborn child was actually very funny. He crossed his arms like he was king of the world and called her a stalker. Well then if I am your stalker you have full permission to do whatever you would like to me. I am your slave.. Alayna said this trying overly hard not to bust out laughing. She was never good at keeping a straight face and now she was straining to keep from letting a large laugh rip. She bowed her head as if she was bowing to her king and had a smirk on her face. Ninana shoved her head underneath Alaynas right arms and laid her head on Alaynas lap. God forbid Alayna jump and knock the dog off the bench for Ninanas paw grazed her tattoo and by god she needed a nail trim. Alayna would have to do that whenever she got home. “I don’t intend to get one but thanks for the heads up,” Alayna smiled as she continued to have slight difficulty with the cream. Though where she had managed to apply the cream the pain lessened a great deal. I wasnt planning on getting one either. But I decided to do something crazy and this was what I ended up with. Another smirk appeared on Alaynas face. She had been planning on getting her belly button pierced as well, but then again she decided against it.
Alayna was continuously trying to place as much cream as possible on her back but it just was not working. Her arms were flexible but they just could not bend that way. When Sloan offered to help a sigh of relief reached Alayna. OH yes please. Alayna took the hand that her left hand was resting on and gently let it graze her stomach. You could feel the outline of the stars for they were swollen. Feel that? I have it on my lower back and going up my spine. Just put this cream on where you feel the etchings. If you put it anywhere else my back will turn green. And I dont think you want me any uglier than I already am. Alayna added teasingly. Turning herself around she pulled her hair so that it was draped over her shouldars and out of the way. Her hair had grown and now it rested almost to her lower back and butt. That was one thing Alayna would never change because she loved her hair. Wincing slightly when she felt his hands touch the sensitive part of her back Alayna waite for him to be done and some of the soreness would cease. Sophia is back with Lucian. I kind of figured it would happen, but she seems really happy. I know how much you care about her so I thought you would want to know. Alayna said softly. She knew that Sloan loved Sophia and Alayna could only wish that he ever felt the same for her.

Alayna and Sloan had been walking a fine line but she was the first to cross it. She obviously noticed her mistake and was hasty in changing the subject to her two prize winning horses. But her latest evasion tactic fumbled as Sloan smirked at her little for just saying the word ‘honkeytonk’ and then for her insinuation that she was his cowgirl. That was almost too juicy to pass up and Sloan leaned forward, bringing his face within a few inches of hers until the air leaving her mouth with each breath bathed his skin in warmth, “My cowgirl, now is it?” he inquired, arching his eyebrow enough to seem more intimidating and fiendish than the twenty something year old actually was, “My own personal cowgirl. We need to get you a Stetson and some cowboy boots—no spurs—that would make a hell of a uniform. Wouldn’t the boys be jealous?” the dimple-like scar etched itself into his cheek as he drew away slowly, laughing prior to the response he’d get out Alayna for such a comment. She had started it and both of them knew it; though he was not so shocked or abashed as Alayna might have imagined. There was no fooling him in matters like these and the seductive way in which she often talked, the way she drew closer to him, and the way she was so easily embarrassed were all signs of there being more than what met the eyes. He was just a bit subtler about it, being able to flirt for kicks and seem like nothing more than a cad was a gift but it was a way of testing the waters too; Sloan did not enter casual relationships.
“Well then if I am your stalker you have full permission to do whatever you would like to me. I am your slave…” was the next stream of words to come sweetly from her accented lips. Where was she going with this was all Sloan could bring his mind to think about. That was as sexual an innuendo if he had ever heard one. Whatever he wanted—slave—the provocativeness. But the laugh ruined whatever tension might have been created and Sloan smirked, wagging his finger in her direction.
“You are a tease, bella, a big tease,” he chuckled, “But in that case I hope you are my stalker. Do whatever I want, huh?”
His hand was taken within her own as Alayna sighed in relief at his offer and Sloan was pulled towards her. His strong arm snaked around Alayna’s waist and grazed her stomach as he was given a visual of the tattoo that was causing such discomfort. Skilled fingers, gently moved along the raised stars, the heat from her body seeping into the pores of his flesh. Nodding, Sloan took the cream in hand and lathered it on the palms of his hands before running them lightly over the raises on her back. Alayna stiffened briefly at the initial contact and Sloan faltered in an attempt to ease the pain but his hands still massaged the cool gel into her inked skin as she continued to speak, “If you put it anywhere else my back will turn green. And I don’t think you want me any uglier than I already am.”
Sloan shook his head and eased himself behind Alayna’s back, allowing only enough room for his hands to continue to apply the ointment. His head hung over Alayna’s shoulder, his chin resting on her right as his lungs breathed warm air against her ear, “I don’t know what you see, bella, but I can assure you I don’t see a thing that is ugly on you. Not even those once callused hands of yours,” he gave a half smile and pulled back to apply more of the gel to the raised skin along her back, his hands traveling along her lower back, just above the pant line and up her spine, “You are a brave girl.”
“Sophia is back with Lucian. I kind of figured it would happen, but she seems really happy. I know how much you care about her so I thought you would want to know.”
Though he tried to act unaffected, Sloan’s hair stood on end and his throat closed at the little tidbit of news. He knew that it would happen eventually as Sophia seemed so certain of a resolution but that didn’t make up for the vile taste that made his tongue bitter. Sophia had been the girl that he couldn’t attain and though his feelings were far from being as passionate as they once were the fact that Lucian Iadescu had won over him was enough to make Sloan’s blood curdle, “The son of a bitch didn’t deserve her in the first place but if she’s happy—she deserves to be happy.” He left it at that and guided his hand around both sides of Alayna’s waist, holding her within his arms, her back against his chest, his lips near her ear “You deserve to be happy too, bella.”

Cant You Feel My Heart Beat So ------------------------------------------------------- i cant let you go Alayna knew that Sloan was not going to let that one slip. And sure enough Alayna felt him scoot closer. His warm breath tickled her tanned skin as he began to whisper in her ear. “My cowgirl, now is it?” A smile erupted from Alaynas lips but this she said more catiously and without much confidence. If you want me to be. Alayna simply said. Though feeling him so close was intoxicating, she could smell the sweat and dog hair on him. Every little thing about him was standing out as her back was to him and Alayna looked forward not knowing what to really say next. “My own personal cowgirl. We need to get you a Stetson and some cowboy boots—no spurs—that would make a hell of a uniform. Wouldn’t the boys be jealous?” Alayna let out another laugh for the heat of her tattoo was beginning to leave her. Now she could laugh and not worry about it hurting as bad as it did before. I already have all those things, Alayna said simply, for it was true. You didnt grow up around horses and not have the full cowgirl attire. And as for the boys being jelous no one seemes to come to mind. Can you think of anyone? Alayna added teasingly. Now she wasnt sure if he was teasing her in a serious way or just plain teasing her. God only knew how much Alayna wanted to be his and his alone, but he would have to make the first move for Alayna would be too afraid to. She did not do casual relationships, and once she knew how a man should treat her Alayna could go anywhere. But there was one that aleady had her heart, rather he knew it or not.
“You are a tease, bella, a big tease, But in that case I hope you are my stalker. Do whatever I want, huh?” Alayna was so close to saying something that would have been a tease but it also would have been very rude so Alayna decided to let that comment slide. Feeling his hands gently rub the cream into her back Alayna could slowly feel the itchiness and soreness go away. Sloan seemed to know that he was being a little too rough for every time he touched her Sloans touch became lighter and lighter also gentler. Feeling him so close to her Alaynas body trembled and she prayed he had not caught that. His breath on the right side of her neck was intoxicating. Though she had felt him this close before and so within moments Alayna was at ease once again. It was just so hard to one minute think you would not see a certain someone ever again and the next moment they were right there. “I don’t know what you see, bella, but I can assure you I don’t see a thing that is ugly on you. Not even those once callused hands of yours,” Alayna let out another giggle. This time he was not teasing her, this was actual flirting and the fact that he had called her beautiful held a great deal to Alayna. Well thank you..havnt heard someone tell me that in a long time. Even men who could see her face would call her ugly and all sorts of things. But that was mainly because she was always either covered in horse hair or dirt. “You are a brave girl.” She was trembling again but at these words Alayna shook her head. Only on small occasions. She added half heartedly.
As soon as Alayna mentioned Sophia, Sloan seemed to falter and become angry. She knew that this would probably be his reaction. Sophia had told Alayna about how Sloan had loved her and yet Sophia had turned him down on several occasions. Alayna felt bad for Sloan on that account for she knew exactly how he felt. Alayna to had felt that kind of rejection many times before. “The son of a bitch didn’t deserve her in the first place but if she’s happy—she deserves to be happy.” Alayna nodded. The last email she had gotten from Sophia showed that she was very happy and that only made Alayna happier for her best friend. I admit they've had a bad history. But who cared about any of that if they truly love eachother? Alayna said and suddenly Alayna felt Sloans body move even close if that was even remotely possible. His strong arms wrapped around Alaynas thin waist and she responded by leaning back allowing her body to go between Sloans legs and lean up against his torso. Laying her own arms on top of his this was a perfect moment for Alayna. She felt so safe in those strong arms and Sloan would never truly know what kind of relief that was. “You deserve to be happy too, bella.” Alayna sighed feeling his breathing against her back. Those strong muscles protruding from his shirt as they pretty much took up the entire bench. I wish you were right Sloan. But I havnt met anyone yet that wanted to make me happy in return. She said rather softly though she knew that he would be able to hear her. Alayna had given her heart to a few and yet they had not given her their heart in return. It was enough to kill someone.

Sloan refused to talk about Sophia and the man that had won her heart in the end seeing as it only resurrected old demons that being thousands of miles away could help to alleviate. If she was happy with the bastard then there was nothing that Sloan could do; and if Sophia thought that there was more to Lucian than his poor judgment then it was her prerogative but that didn’t mean he had to accept it. It was the classic case of unrequited love but Sloan would accept his blight; it was part of life to be disappointed and this just happened to be one of them, “Iadescu isn’t worth wasting your breath, bella,” he murmured, sensing the drastic change in position. Alayna’s back sank leisurely between his legs until the gel he had applied only moments before covered the front of his shirt—not that he cared at that moment—and her arms slinked around his as she reclined luxuriously against him. It was déjà vu, similar to their ride in the parade yet different as Sloan no longer fought internally against flirting with another woman. He was comfortable, very attracted, and somewhat turned on by the close proximity, the teasing, and the way Alayna seemed to trust him.
His whole body shifted forward cautiously for fear of irritating the tattoo that ran around her waist and up Alayna’s spine. Strong arms seemed to chafe against them no matter how much he tried to avoid the raised silhouettes and at intervals Sloan could feel Alayna’s whole body tremble. A weak smile appeared on his lips as he realized that the closer they moved to one another the more frequently she shivered; yet not once did Alayna move away. Instead, the young woman had planted herself comfortably between his legs, staying securely between his arms, “Well, thank you… haven’t heard someone tell me that in a long time.”
Shifting his arms slightly so that his hands could run along Alayna’s bare arms, Sloan smiled weakly, “That means you haven’t been hanging around with the right people, bella,” he assured her, “Even a blind man can see how beautiful you are.” An able hand ran up her sides, creating a representation of the young woman in his mind’s eye; they traveled upwards until reaching her slender neck where they stopped, “I was right—slim, well-proportioned,” he smirked playfully, “soft and feminine. What could possibly be prettier?”
“I wish you were right, Sloan. But I haven’t met anyone yet that wanted to make me happy in return.” Her voice was so small and mouse-like that Sloan had nearly missed the remark. She could be so confident one minute so self-conscious the next.
He seemed to disagree however and brought his lips to Alayna’s ear as his hands once again retreated down her arms and to her thin waist, “I’m very right, Alayna,” Sloan attested seriously, “Everyone deserves to be happy including you.” It was somewhat an outer body experience though Sloan would not regret it later by any stretch of the imagination; in fact he was pleased with himself having done what he had done. Alayna was everything he could have wanted in a woman and she seemed to have given up on a chance at happiness. Cynical though he was, Sloan could not condone a vibrant character like the one in his arms to wilt because of a low opinion of herself. Hot air escaped his lips as he drew closer at a painstakingly slow rate until his lips hung mere breaths away from Alayna’s warm, sweet-smelling flesh. Sloan pressed his fine lips to the nape of her neck, inhaling the scent of her body and absorbing the heat that radiated from her in that one sensual moment. His lips lingered before Sloan eased his lips once more to the young woman’s ear and whispered, “You can’t think of anyone, bella?”

Cant You Feel My Heart Beat So ------------------------------------------------------- i cant let you go Alayna could tell that Sloan was uncomfortable talking about Sophia. She didnt blame him, from what Alayna had been told he had really cared about her. But now Alayna was with Sloan and she was totally comfortable with him. She didnt know what it was that made her trust Sloan so..but there was definetely something there. Alayna was leaning up against him only shivering every so often. She felt so safe when she was with Sloan, like no one could touch her. “That means you haven’t been hanging around with the right people, bella, Even a blind man can see how beautiful you are.” All Alayna could really do was smile at this. Her head was resting on his right shouldar her mouth close to his cheek. Her breathing was coming steady, which pretty much said how comfortable she was with him. what is the right people? Alayna asked rather teasingly. With her italian accent coming out in every single word she said. “I was right—slim, well-proportioned,” he smirked playfully, “soft and feminine. What could possibly be prettier?” Alayna let out a laugh. Feeling him run his hands down her sides it tickled Alayna and a couple times she giggled and jumped. That was one thing he did not know about her..she was VERY ticklish. Well Ill just have to take your word on that. Alayna said as once again he was resting his hands on her arms. His strong muscles made Alayna feel so safe. How could she feel so secure one moment and the next moment be completely doubting herself? It was only because of how she had been treated in the past. It had killed her body and soul.
“I’m very right, Alayna, Everyone deserves to be happy including you.” Such seriousness caught Alayna by surprise. All she could do was smirk and grunt in acknowledgement that she understood what he was saying. Then Alayna felt Sloan move even closer if that was even remotely possible. Feeling his breath on the back of her neck Alayna just sat there calmly thinking that he was only making himself comfortable. Then his lips met the softness of the back of Alaynas neck and Alayna just sighed. The back of her neck was a big turn on spot for Alayna but she had to hold everything in, tune it out. When he finally released her neck from his soft grasp he spoke and Alayna felt like she was going to cry. And yet she did not know why. “You can’t think of anyone, bella?” Alayna had to think for a moment. Hearing his sweet whisper in her ear almost brought back memories. There were so many new feelings flowing through Alayna that she hadnt even felt when she was dating Shane, or Aiden. These feelings were scaring her, because her heart had been broken one too many times. But then again this was Sloan...he wouldnt hurt her would he? Alayna couldnt believe just how much she trusted Sloan when really she hadnt known him that long. Ther was just a chemistry between them that made everything so easy. Alayna could talk to Sloan about everything and he always gave his two sense and gave advise. Not to mention he was just as witty and sexual when it came to all the teasing and the jokes. What more could Alayna ask for? But Alayna wouldnt be able to handle her heart being broken again.
I can think of only one. Alayna said simply. Now was the time to express to him how she truly felt. Turning so that she was face to face with Sloan Alayna leaned forward and kissed him. It wasnt a tongue in the mouth kind of kiss, but like a kiss that expressed all feelings. A passionate first kiss. If Sloan kissed back then Alayna would know that he felt the same, and she would not mind making out in the slightest. Letting her lips kiss those soft manly lips of the man that had stolen her heart after a couple of minutes Alayna released and blushed like a maniac. Though she hoped he would not notice, but then again Sloan seemed to notice everything when it came to Alayna. Sloan seemed to know her so well already. And that someone is you...if you want to be. Alayna said. Her face was still really close to Sloan and she spoke more in a whisper than actual talking. His arms were still wrapped around her thin and sore waist. Alayna could not help but smile when she noticed that the cream he had just put on her back was now all over his shirt. Luckily they were out in the sun and the cream dried very quickly. Thank god or it would be totally embarrasing. But all well Alayna didnt really care. She was sitting right where she wanted to be.

There were those moments in times when the best actions were those that were unrehearsed and unscripted when you were driven to act suddenly by an impulse and nothing more. Your brain had no say in the matter; it was purely an act of passion. Those moments were few and far between, at least those which ended up happily. Sloan had been impulsive with Sophia once, held her in his strong arms and assailed her soft, yet fine lips with his own in hopes of arousing in her the same heat and desire that had coursed in his veins but that had back-fired. The poor Italian donna was so affrighted by the action that she had stood like a statue before him before apologizing and scampering off without any explanation. He’d later learned that she was still pining for her ex and he had no chance in hell getting her to relent. But that first disastrous kiss had been months ago and though he endured more humiliation in hopes of winning her, Sloan had relented, thrown in the towel when Miami had called. But that one moment did not mean that all spontaneous actions would end in the shame embarrassment. His mind had gone blank— completely white—as he sat with Alayna between his legs and her head reclining on his shoulder. Not being able to see he relied on every other sense for input: her skin was soft and warm undoubtedly from sitting in the sun in a midriff-displaying top of some sort; her hair smelled of some fruit and flower combination that he could not recall to memory; and her voice was meek and mild with every word she sang in her Italian accent. A sigh hung in the air as he drew his lips away and questioned her once again in a serious tone that he had never used before with Alayna.
What was he getting himself into?
As if she had found her voice from his small action, Alayna became bold in her advances and shifted on the wooden bench until he could feel her hot breath against his pale skin. “I can think of only one” Alayna murmured, receiving a grin from the man before her. His hands remained around her waist as she brought herself nearer until two soft, bowed shaped lips collided with his own. Sloan was taken aback to say the least but recoiling was the furthest thing from his mind. She was involving all the fire and longing in her body, he could feel her tense and relax against him. A man would have to have been stupid or gay not to be compelled to act and being neither Sloan did so in an arduous manner. The pair of large hands that had been fondling her sides moved slowly up her arms until reaching the sides of her soft cheeks, his thumbs caressing the plump apples there. His own lips pressed firmly against hers, though he skirted away from anything too bold. He wanted to make her aware of the attraction he felt and which they had been playing around with in their flirty and provocative pokes at one another. He’d hate to call it chemistry, seeing as it was so cliché, but there was a ‘there’ there. Something about Alayna puzzled and mesmerized him, “And that someone is you...if you want to be.”
Yes, he was fully aware of what he was getting himself into.
Sloan smirked in that usual roguish way of his, “You really aren’t too quick on the uptake,” he teased, easing himself forward as he allowed his hands to timidly run along the contours of her long features. He’d been wanting to do so for quite some time—to help him create an image for himself from the shapes and sensation. He smiled as the face began to emerge in his mind, the long face almost oval, with a prominent button nose, velvet skin, and full lips. “But just so you know, bella, just so you can be sure why don’t you come closer, hmm?” Sloan flirted, though he didn’t wait for Alayna to once again move towards him; instead he moved forward and allowed his lips to meld together with hers and carefully breeched her lips with his pink tongue to gain access to the dark cavity of her mouth. He held her fast, fiery lips trying to convey the answer to what he deemed such a silly question in the first place. His head turned and Sloan’s hands slid up Alayna’s back until he cradled her like a small child.
Pulling away breathless, Sloan smirked, “Now, do I still have to respond or does that suffice, bella?”

These Wounds Wont Seem to Heal ------------------------------------------------------- this pain is just too real Feeling him kiss back gave Alayna butterflies. Her whole body seemed to melt as she felt his hands move up to her cheeks carressing them like they were priceless china. It scared Alayna though, at any minute Sloan could just pull away and say he never wanted to see her again. That alone would be enough to send Alayna back home brokenhearted and keep her locked in her bedroom for a good many years to come. Rejection was something that Alayna did not take too well, and with Sloan it would be complete murder for her. She had been rejected only a couple of times in her entire life, and the other times she had just been flat out torn apart by the men she loved. Alayna was not going to let it happen this time, she was growing too fond of Sloan to let that happen. There were just so many things that they needed to know about eachother, for they barely knew eachother at all. But that would not be hard for Alayna for she found that Sloan was very easy to talk to. She trusted him and was more comfortable with him then she was with any other man. Which was surprising, but then again Alayna didnt have hardly any "girlfriends" so really who was it that she could feel comfortable around? Alayna couldnt help that all these feelings were just flowing out of her. The way she felt about Sloan was obvious, but then again what were these feelings?
“You really aren’t too quick on the uptake,” Alayna let out a laughlike cough at this. Allowing Sloan to run his fingers along her face and form she knew that he was trying to "see" her. Alayna had found out awile back that feeling someone was the main way blind people could tell what they looked like. “But just so you know, bella, just so you can be sure why don’t you come closer, hmm?” A smile came across Alaynas face as she watched Sloan scoot closer. She didnt have long to wait before Sloan was kissing her again, they had scooted so close to eachother that her chest was pressed up against his. Letting her hands run up Sloans chest Alaynas long fingers finally ended up at Sloans neck. Parting her teeth so Sloans tongue could venture inside her mouth. At first the kiss was skittish but as the seconds drew on it becae more passionate and agressive. It was the most perfect kiss in the world and Alayna felt like she had the whole world falling out of her heart. “Now, do I still have to respond or does that suffice, bella?” When they pulled apart Alayna kept her face close to Sloans. As if in any moment she would loose him forever. It took a couple of seconds for both of them to get their breath back. At his question all Alayna could do was smile. I think youve prooven it already. And with a giggle Alayna drew him into a kiss once more. You could tell that Alayna was growing slightly more confident by the way she became more agressive. The fire that was Alaynas spirit was coming out bit by bit. Her Italian spirit was fiery and strong, even though she didnt act it sometimes, and it definetely was showing here.
Alayna could not believe she was sitting here kissing the man of her dreams. Ninana however was not liking the cange of attention. Sitting in front of the bench she began a low growling until Alayna pulled awayo from Sloan to show her beloved pet some attention. Getting into her bag Alayna pulled out a long rope and Ninana immediately jumped up and barked with excitement. Jealous much. Alayna said as Ninana grabbed the rope and pracitcally dragged Alayna off the bench. A tug a war game commenced and definetely the husky was winning. Alayna was laughing and tugging at the rope until Ninana finally yanked it from her grasp. Alayna sat back down on the bench kind of sweaty and out of breath but she didnt care. Leaning with her back up against Sloan a smile came across her face. I could get used to this. She said lightly as Sloans sweet smell enveloped all around her.

It was as if the few weeks together and the time apart while Sloan was in Miami and Alayna was still in Rome had intensified what ever sentiments had been building under the surface. He could remember finding Alayna easy to talk to, enjoying their game of cat and mouse which became more sexual as time passed, and feeling normal for the first time in his life as she seemed to forget or ignore his blindness. But at the time, venturing into a romantic relationship with anyone, save for Sophia, was blasphemous; he just couldn’t fathom it. Though the connection had been there, Sloan had pursued nothing further than a flirtation as an Olympic sport. And now as things were, Sloan had conceded to a relationship with Alayna for he could see neither entering a relationship in which sex was the only sort of discourse or those so-called ‘free’ relationships with commitment to no one. He was a man who liked the stability of having one woman to lavish with attention and carouse with. Did he regret it? Hell no. Alayna was quite the woman and well, that kiss was phenomenal especially when she began to feel more secure with their intimacy. Still, it was a surprise, but a pleasant one at that.
Sloan kept Alayna trapped within his arms as they kissed, their chests pressing fiercely against one another as their hands seemed to explore the body in first timid and then more aggressive motions. Her fingers, long tapered appendages used skillfully to steer horses now steered them both into a more feverish kiss as they ran up Sloan’s chest and around his neck. He could sense her hesitation waning as time progressed and he in return received more pleasure from it until at last it ended and Alayna giggled, "I think you’ve proven it already.”
“Well, that’s good to know,” he smirked but before anything more could be said, Sloan found himself the happy prisoner of another kiss. If her first kiss had been timid and ‘PG’ this kiss was ferocious and erotic. Every witty retort that Sloan could think up was immediately forgotten as he concentrated solely on the woman before him who was letting the passionate persona of her Italian heritage take him on a ride. Sloan, who had barely caught his breath from the first and the second kiss, now found he had a third wind. His fingers weaved carelessly into her wavy tresses as he pulled her more forcefully against his hungry lips that ravaged her own as he was egged on by her advances. It seemed to last a lifetime until the moment when Ninana, the husky that had been sitting diligently at their feet decided it was her turn to play chaperone. A low, guttural growl stopped Alayna from pursuing him any longer. But Maximus was sitting on the ground caring not a lick for the public display of affection. He had seen such things before and was required no attention when he was harnessed and on the job.
She sprung up to provide the needy dog with attention much to Sloan’s displeasure and he playfully made a disappointed face as Alayna went to play tug-of-war with Ninana. The young man looked like a small child about to throw a tantrum and the thought only made him chuckle as he reclined on the bench with his arms on the back, “Jealous much,” Alayna teased her beloved dog from afar as she let herself be yanked about. Sloan listened to the dog grunt and groan in an attempt to get the rope but soon lost interest in the game and allowed his attention to be captivated by the sounds of an ice cream truck passing on one of the paths; it was a distant tune compromised of bells but children squealed in delight and he swore that he could hear the purses of each and every mother being opened.
But Alayna was soon pressing up against him again and his body jolted by the feel of her back against him once more, “I could get used to this,” she told him in a nonchalant manner.
He nodded in agreement but smirked wildly, “I think that last kiss adjusted me pretty quickly. Damn. Are you trying to kill me? I thought of so many naughty cowgirl jokes while you were playing with Ninana that my brain hurts.” Who would have believed him if he said he were going to be seeing an animal loving rancher? Surely not Sloan Edwards himself and yet there he was. He nodded towards the sound of the ice cream truck, “Why don’t I treat you to an ice cream cone? You can pay me back later,” he grinned.

These Wounds Wont Seem to Heal ------------------------------------------------------- this pain is just too real It seemed like they had never been apart. There were so many things that Alayna wanted to know about him and tell him about herself. “I think that last kiss adjusted me pretty quickly. Damn. Are you trying to kill me? I thought of so many naughty cowgirl jokes while you were playing with Ninana that my brain hurts.” Alayna could not help but laugh as he said this. Sloan was just too cute and she could only imagine how the jokes would turn out. Turning on her side Alayna leaned her body against Sloans chest and laid her head on Sloans shouldar. He was just so comfortable and Alayna was so tired that there could be no way Alayna could stay up anymore. She just wanted to sleep right there with her head in that little knook in Sloans shouldar. Every woman wanted to belong in the knook, and Alayna certainly found herself in that spot right now. Well tell me some of them then? That'll give me enough time to come up with a comback. Alayna giggled. Ninana growing tired of begging for attention she finally just laid in front of the bench with her head on her paws. She looked longingly at the children and it only puzzled Alayna. Ninana loved human children much more than she loved her own offspring. Alayna only hoped that she would be able to help Ninana out with that one day. The one thing that Alayna wanted more than anything was a family, and to have someone by her side that loved her. She wasnt saying that was Sloan, but it might be. Only time would tell what would happen between the two of them.
“Why don’t I treat you to an ice cream cone? You can pay me back later,” Alayna lifted herself off of Sloan so that he could get up with a giggle. Cocking an eyebrow Alayna took Sloans hand and began walking towards the icecream truck. She wasnt trying to steer him or pull him towards the truck. Alayna wasnt ignorant like that she knew that Sloan could hear the truck. He mustve known exactly where it was. And how exactly do you plan on me paying you back? Alayna said rubbing her free hand down Sloans arm. She was all smily and giggles as they approaced the ice cream truck. Alayna told Sloan that she would like a rainbow pop and a great smile spread across her face as she heard that their icecream only cost $3. Wow Sloan..three dollars, thats going to be a hard bet to pay back. Sitting back on the bench Alayna was eating her ice cream, well more like pop cicle trying hard not to get that rainbow goodness everywhere. It was so hot outside and the ice cream was so good. The burning sensation in her sides had begun to go down and Alayna was happy that she no longer had the feeling that her skin was going to fall off. Now she didnt flinch as much when Sloan held her, when his hands would glance her sides when they were kissing. Man that feeling was so good. Finishing up her ice cream Alayna looked up into the sky and noticed that the sun was going down. Oh God..was Alaynas first thought. There was no way she would be able to get herself home in the dark. Alayna stiffened, she hated walking in Miami in the dark, even with Ninana there it scared her. So much different than Italy.
Alayna and Sloan were sitting on the bench, talking about random things just like they used to. It felt like old times and Alayna loved it. She was so comfortable with Sloan and nothing could truly change that. She was sitting so that she was facing Sloan with her legs draped over his lap. Though she was still so close to him that her face wasnt that far from his. Tell me something about yourself that I dont already know. Alayna asked curiously. When she was finished with her popcicle she gave the stick to Ninana who was more than happy to lick it until it was dry. Taking a hold of Sloans arm so that she would not fall off the bench Alayna leaned over and took the stick from Ninana before the dog had a chance to chew it up. IT would've been very bad if she had managed to chew on it. Placing the stick in one of her purse pockets Alayna would have to remind herself to throw it away later. The sun was slowly fading and so was the crowd, no one hung out at the park at night. No one but this couple. Alayna really didnt want to go home, one because she probably wouldnt be able to find her way home in the dark and two she wanted to spend as much time Sloan as possible. Alayna was practically in his lap with her body leaning against hi strong torso, her head comfortably back in the knook waiting for him to answer her question.
